Telugu Desam Party flags were removed, burnt and destroyed by the Srikakulam party cadre as they were deeply disappointed that their leader Gunda Lakhmi Devi did not get a ticket to contest in the upcoming legislative assembly elections. The TDP ignored the senior couple, Gunda Lakshmi Devi and Gunda AppalaSuryanarayana and gave ticket to Gondu Shankar. This was announced in the TDP’s recently released list.
This move has triggered disturbances on the ground with TDP cadre forcing Gunda family to contest independently. Several party workers have removed the TDP party flag, destroyed it on the ground, as they were angered with their party’s move.
It is also heavily rumored that the seat was given to Gondu Shankar for hefty amounts. The disappointed cadre said that they trusted Chandrababu and did not expect he would get sold like this for money.
Now, whether the Gunda family would contest independently or stay calm has to be seen.
