The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials have informed the Nampally CBI court in Hyderabad that they are expediting the investigation into the murder case of former Andhra Pradesh minister YS Vivekananda Reddy and will file a charge sheet at the earliest. This case has shaken up the political landscape of Andhra Pradesh.

The CBI conveyed this information to the court during the latest hearing held on Friday. The court has adjourned the case until the 28th of next month. All four accused in the Viveka case were presented before the CBI court.  The CBI counsel informed the court that the investigating officer had been changed as per the orders of the Supreme Court in the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to investigate the Viveka murder case.

He added that the investigation was being expedited, and the charge sheet would be filed as soon as possible. Sunitha Reddy, Vivekananda Reddy's daughter, filed a petition in the CBI court, offering to assist the CBI's lawyer. The Supreme Court had recently expressed its dissatisfaction with the handling of the Vivekananda Reddy case and asked how many years it would take to conclude the investigation.

The court ordered that the criminal charges be settled by April 30th. A5 Devireddy Sivashankar Reddy, one of the accused in the murder case, filed a petition seeking bail, which was heard by his wife Tulashamma. The court also ordered the establishment of a new SIT to replace the previous investigating officer Ram Singh.
