The recent results of the Graduate MLC elections in Andhra Pradesh have caused panic within the ruling YCP party. The party suffered unexpected defeats in three places, and now they are concerned about the upcoming MLC election that will be held under MLAs quota. The TDP has entered the fray, with candidate Anuradha contesting, and YCP appears to be drawing its own strategies to handle this.

The MLAs quota MLC election in AP is scheduled for the 23rd of this month, with polling for all seven seats. YCP is contesting all seven seats, but did not anticipate that the TDP would also contest. TDP has finalized Anuradha's name, who hails from the BC community.

According to the AP Assembly strength, 22 first preference votes are required for the seventh candidate to win. YCP has 151 MLAs in the Assembly, while TDP has 23 MLAs and Jana Sena has one. However, four TDP MLAs are in favor of YCP, and the only MLA of Jana Sena openly supports the ruling party. With the numbers on their side, CM Jagan boldly fielded the seventh candidate in the MLC elections.

The twist in the tale came with ciTDP announng Anuradha's name. YCP rebels Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and Anam Ramnarayana Reddy are likely to vote for the TDP candidate. Although TDP's strength has dropped to 19 due to the defection of four MLAs, the party gained support from YCP rebels and its tally went up to 21.  If TDP's Anuradha is to win, she needs the vote of just one MLA, which is the deciding factor. Hence, the going seems to be tough and challenging for both the parties with a tense atmosphere.
