Right from the time when Chandrababu Naidu took over as the boss of Telugu Desam Party in 1995, many things have changed in due course in the yellow party. The party which had once provided a platform for young leaders from farmer, teaching and other backgrounds later went into the grip of only financial heavyweights and lobbyists. The reason Babu never came to power twice consecutively and only once in 1999 and once in 2014 each reflects the unwanted practices that had crept into the TDP.

The same formula is being followed every time whenever the party is not in power. The cadre and other leaders sweat it out and later whenever they taste power, the party goes into the grip of strong and rich people who cleverly eat away a lot of assembly tickets. Pro-TDP media has started creating a hype as if power is within their reach and in this regard, TDP too seems to have started fundraising to spend in the next assembly elections.

The dreaded scenario for the cadre and hard-working leaders has started. There seems to be a large group of NRIs especially from Babu's community who seem to be lobbying hard to get a good chunk of tickets for the assembly as well as Lok Sabha. There is already a turf war going on in the party between old and younger generations. There is a lot of infighting in many segments and now the sudden rush of NRI's is rattling the cadre.

The favorite phrase of Babu is 'thyagam' which means sacrifice. Babu always uses this word to see that there are no obstacles to his last-minute decisions. The cadre is fed up with Babu using this term to keep them silent all the time and now again they are fearing that the time has come for them to be sacrificed for rich money bags from North America.
