The objective of any padyatra is to listen to people and most importantly, in politics it is also about listening to your cadre because it presents a unique opportunity to leaders to sit with them, listen patiently and then brainstorm about the party functionaries and other things. It is the major objective of any yathra where the cadre becomes galvanized.

It is known that despite odds, TDP still has a good cadre in Andhra Pradesh and it is the major party in the state after YSRCP, for now. TDP chief Chandrababu's son Lokesh recently started off his walkathon titled 'Yuvagalam' and he started this from his father's home turf of Kuppam.

Marking the second day, it is notable that a TDP grassroots worker tried to explain to him the state of the party in a very transparent and straightforward way without trying to add unnecessary hype. In full media glare, he tried to reason out what is the exact position of TDP, where the party is going wrong and what is the pulse. However, to everyone's surprise Lokesh not only ignored the feedback given, but also reportedly raised his voice against him and then moved on.

This has certainly not gone down well with the TDP local leaders who were hoping for something big and honest from Lokesh who can relate to what's happening at the ground level. Already as if the lackluster response to the walkathon is not enough, the way Lokesh has ignored his cadre sends wrong signals about the objective of this yathra.

Moreover, with YSRCP making strong inroads into the Kuppam segment, there is a perception that Chandrababu himself winning the seat is not going to be a cake walk this time. Now Lokesh ignoring the feedback will only make the matters worse and TDP leaders feel that if this is his approach, then god save the party. Any yathras or meetings or media hype will not help the party if this is how it intends to go further, they feel.
