The issue of three capitals for Andhra Pradesh, mooted by the YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh is now in the Supreme Court with the court expected to deliver its verdict in a couple of months from now. Currently the ball is in the apex court.

AP government has filed a special leave petition challenging AP high court's order that the state cannot pass a bill regarding the capital issue. Now the court has invited all stakeholders and served notices to them and a notice has also been issued to the Central government.

Soon, the Govt. of India is expected to spell its official stand on Amaravathi and it would be interesting to see what that would be. Whether it will reflect the AP BJP unit's stand that Amaravathi is the only capital or whether the centre will support Jagan's stand is something that will be keenly seen.
