The Sri Shiva Durga temple in Cumming, GA celebrated Maha Sivarathri on February 18th on a grand scale. The temple performed saptha kala Abishekams, which began at 7:00 AM on the 18th and continued through 4:00 AM on the 19th. A special Basma Abishekam at Lingodhbava timing was also performed at the temple, which brought in a spiritual atmosphere for devotees.
Despite more than 10,000 devotees visiting the temple on the day, the management and volunteers made the best arrangements to allow everyone to have darshan and offer free Jala abishekam to Sivalingam while also receiving prasadam. The temple had full capacity of devotees even after midnight. Special Alankarams after each Abishekam and cultural programs filled the hearts of devotees with divine bliss.
