The Telugu film industry turned 90 in 2022. A grand event has been planned under the aegis of the Movie Artists Association for the past two years. Finally, the curtains have been raised for the flagship event, which will be held on July 20 this year. It will be a fundraiser event of sorts in Malaysia.
The organizers have zeroed in on the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, as the venue. In a statement, they said that it is going to be a star-studded gala with the anticipation of a large turnout of cinema enthusiasts in attendance.
A launch event has been held under the aegis of Sunway Pyramid and Sunway Resort. Tourism Malaysia, in partnership with MAA and local event organizer MC Entertainment, is excited to enhance the event. It has collaborated with airlines and hotels to offer attractive prices for attendees. "These efforts are part of a broader strategy to promote Malaysia as a premier filming and tourist destination ahead of the Visit Malaysia Year 2026," a statement by the organizers says.
The event will be an occasion for the Telugu community to deepen its ties with the cultural space in Malaysia.
