SS Rajamouli was at an event related to 'Baahubali: Crown of Blood' (to be streamed on Disney Plus Hotstar from May 17) on Tuesday. He was asked by a journalist about the perception that one hero (Jr NTR) didn't receive as much space in 'RRR' compared with the other hero (Ram Charan).
The director was clever in evading the question. He merely said, "This is not at all the platform to talk about that movie."
Rajamouli must be appreciated for not lending legitimacy to an issue that has no relevance to his craft. While it is true that he has never addressed the motivated narrative that Tarak was reduced to a "side artist" in 'RRR', what he had said about the characters Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju in the run up to the movie's release made his stance more than clear. Why does he need to talk about it all over again?
The question itself was way below his stature. Rajamouli is no Hairsh Shankar to waste his time on what trolls hold against him. If the Tollywood media wants directors to play into their hands, it is a wrong expectation in the first place. Not everyone cares about trolls.
