Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, in his latest interview, said that the budget for 'Spirit' is going to be Rs 300 Cr. When the interviewer asked him if it wasn't too much, the 'Animal' director said that it's within in the range of trade estimates.
"We are expecting the film to make Rs 150 Cr on Day 1 of its release in theatres. Take into account digital and satellite rights, it is going to be a safe project," Vanga said.
The 'Arjun Reddy' director also revealed that Prabhas' wish was to act in the remake of a Hollywood movie under the direction of Vanga. Since Vanga is disinclined towards remakes, he pitched an original story.
'Spirit' will see Prabhas in the role of an honest cop. It will commence its shoot in December. "I have completed 60% of the writing part," Vanga said.
Prabhas' film with Hanu Raghavapudi is going to be a period drama that will narrate an alternative account of a historical event.
