Brahmanandam to actors: 'Watch that song and your pride will melt away'

Brahmanandam was speaking at an event where a biography of Savitri was released in Hyderabad. Megastar Chiranjeevi and many others graced the occasion.

At the event, the legendary comedian eulogized Savitri as the greatest of all time. "I fold my hands and request everyone to watch the song 'Neevuleka Veena' on YouTube. It is from the movie 'Dr. Chakvarthy' (1963). Savitri Amma's expressions in that song are so nuanced and inimitable that everyone who thinks that he is a great actor will see his vanity melt away. You will bow down before Savitri Amma," Brahmi said.

The timeless song was sung by P Susheela and written by Aathreya. Saluri Rajeshwara Rao set the song to tune. Shot on Savitri and ANR, it was directed by Adurthi Subba Rao.

Brahmi further said that he, at times, buys into the praises showered upon him by others and starts believing that he is a great actor. "And that's when I watch Savitri Amma's scenes," he said, implying that he feels insignificant compared to Savitri's acting prowess.
