Earlier this year, director Prasanth Varma and producer Niranjan Reddy pulled off a monster hit of sorts with 'HanuMan', Tollywood's first homegrown superhero movie. Someone else is also interested in a superhero spin. He is Siddhu Jonnalagadda, the writer-actor of the 'Tillu' movies.
In his latest interview, Tillu said that he wants to see how Tillu would behave when he is made a superhero. As it is, he is already cracked up in "high-stress environments". In 'Tillu Cube', he is going to face an insurmountable problem (we suppose). That alone will justify his need to metamorphose into a super-hero.
In 'DJ Tillu' and 'Tillu Square', the male protagonist was vulnerable yet resourceful. By hook or crook, he managed to extricate himself out of the mess he was stuck in due to Radhika and Lilly, respectively. 'Tillu Cube' must present a clever plot to justify the superhero spin. Otherwise, the audience will start asking for logic.
In 'Tillu Square', the plotting was somewhat convenient. The comedy quotient, however, has made the audience overlook those flaws. The film, meanwhile, had a very good Monday across all territories. It is expected to gross Rs 100 Cr soon.
