People Media Factory unveils First Look of 'Maa Kaali - The Story Of Motherland'

Direct Action Day (16 August 1946) is considered one of the darkest chapters in the history of India. Historians say that it was on this day that the All-India Muslim League decided to take "direct action" for a separate Muslim homeland after the British exit from India. A film has now been made to bring out the whole communal truth behind the anti-Hindu riots and incendiarism. 'Maa Kaali: The Story Of MotherLand' is its name. This one is a pan-Indian outing.

The film, based on the 1946 Calcutta Killings, is produced by People Media Factory. Producer TG Vishwa Prasad has worked with actresses Raima Sen and Abhishek Singh.

Written and directed by Vijay Yelakanti, the film is co-produced by Vivek Kuchibotla. With music done by Anurag Halder, its sound design has been done by JR Ethiraaj. Acharya Venu is its director of photography. With lyrics penned by Kunaal Vermaa, the period drama is edited by Kiran Ganti. The dialogues are penned by Amarnath Jha. Kiran Kumar Manne is its production designer. The Art Direction has been done by Abhista, while the Action Direction is by Wing Chun Anji. The original BGM is by Rooshin Dalal and Kaizad Gherda.
