'Operation Valentine' is apparently the most expensive film in Varun Tej's career. As per producers Siddhu Mudda of Renaissance Pictures and Nandakumar Abbineni, the film's budget is Rs 42 Cr. It was shot separately in Telugu and Hindi. The quoted budget figure is not high if you consider the film's VFX-heavy quality. The VFX work resulted in a cost of Rs 5 Cr, which is not humongous by any stretch of imagination.
Despite being a high-stakes film in Varun Tej's career, the producers are sitting pretty. The pre-release business is a done deal. Sony Pictures releasing the aerial actioner in Hindi has put the patriotic action drama in a sweet spot. The production house has a formidable distribution network in the Hindi market.
The makers' confidence in the film's content has made them opt for early shows. On Thursday evening, the Shakti Pratap Singh Hada directorial will be screened to the media in Hyderabad and Mumbai.
The film will be released on Amazon Prime Video around April 1 (Telugu version) and May 1 (Hindi version).
Starring Manushi Chhillar as a radar officer, 'OV' has music by Mickey J Meyer.
