I am a forest dweller with courage in 'Ooru Peru Bhairavakona': Varsha Bollamma

While watching Varsha Bollamma in 'Middle Class Melodies' (Amazon Prime Video release), director Vi Anand found his strong-willed forest dweller for 'Ooru Peru Bhairavakona' (to be released in theatres on February 16th). The actress, known for an appearance in Thalapathy Vijay's 'Bigil', feels that the Sundeep Kishan-starrer has her in a relatable role.

"I hail from Coorg. I come from a community that worships trees, animals, rivers and mountains. In 'Ooru Peru Bhairavakona', Bhoomi, my character, does the same. She is a girl-next-jungle (smiles) who looks naive and vulnerable on the exterior. However, deep down, she questions injustice and shows her strength at the first opportunity. A tribal girl, she is the only one in the village who is educated. Her voice is what our society needs today. She is inherently relevant to our times," Varsha says.

Varsha says that the film is her first supernatural fantasy entertainer. "The characters in my previous films like 'Chusi Chudangane' were subtle and quiet. In this film, I am strong enough to stab someone. Through my character, the film delivers a message," Varsha adds.

Describing Sundeep Kishan as a kind-hearted person who treats everyone with respect, Varsha says that producer Razesh Danda is always calm. "No matter how chaotic it is, he maintains his balance," the 'Swathi Muthyam' actress adds.

The actress, who will next be doing a film that demands 75 days of her call sheets, is kicked about 'Ooru Peru Bhairavakona'.
