Five straight films are going to hit the screens during the coming Sankranthi. In a span of three to four days, the five films will be played in hundreds of theatres in the Telugu States and the US, vying for revenue maximization.
Of the five, three are going to be released in Nizam by the prominent player, Dil Raju. His distribution company has bought the theatrical rights to Mahesh Babu's 'Guntur Kaaram', Venkatesh's 'Saindhav' and Akkineni Nagarjuna's 'Naa Saami Ranga'. Ravi Teja's 'Eagle' and Teja Sajja's 'Hanu-Man' are going to be released by others. The latter will be released by Mythri Movie Makers in Nizam.
The performance of the three films is going to tell us how right Raju's judgment continues to be. He incurred losses to the tune of several crores by buying out Samantha Ruth Prabhu's 'Shaakuntalam' this year. He would be elated if one of the three Sankranthi releases becomes a blockbuster, with the other two attaining breakeven. In September 2024, his mega production 'Game Changer' will hit the screens.
His effective performance as a distributor during the Sankranthi season is expected to inspire him to further support Dil Raju Productions, a recently established venture where his daughter and nephew have been involved in crafting smaller-scale films. This encouragement is anticipated to result in an increased production of movies under the banner in the year 2024.
