'Eagle', 'Naa Saami Ranga' yet to close OTT deals: Here is why

Five straight Telugu releases are scheduled to be released for Sanrkanthi 2024. What about the films' digital streaming rights? What is the progress on that front? After all, OTT rights are a crucial aspect of a film's cumulative revenue, determining the commercial viability of a lot of films.

The buzz in the industry is that Ravi Teja's 'Eagle' and Akkineni Nagarjuna's 'Naa Saami Ranga' are yet to finalize their streaming deals. As per Andhra Box Office, a trade analysis portal, OTT platforms don't like to premiere multiple movies from a single film industry (language) in the same week. What does this imply?

Mahesh Babu's 'Gunturu Kaaram' has been acquired by Netflix. Venkatesh's 'Saindhav' has been acquired by Amazon Prime Video. and 'Hanu-Man' has been acquired by ZEE5. "These three platforms may not buy the other two films ('Eagle' and 'Naa Saami Ranga')," the portal suggests.

Mahesh Babu, Ravi Teja, Venkatesh, Nagarjuna and Teja Sajja are the heroes of the five Sankranthi releases.

Three Telugu-dubbed Tamil films ('Captain Miller', 'Laal Salaam' and 'Ayalaan') will also want to have a theatrical release but they will struggle to find an adequate number of theatres.
