RGV announces release date of 'Vyooham' after certification

Ram Gopal Varma's political drama 'Vyooham' will hit the screens on December 29. After weeks of being in a state of limbo due to censor certification issues, the film today received a go-ahead from the CBFC.

RGV, hitting out at the TDP, said that the film clearing the mandatory censor certification is "bad news for bad guys".

The story of the film takes place in the late 2000s. YSR passed away in 2009. YS Jaganmohan Reddy (played by Ajmal Ameer) was waiting for his turn and watching the tectonic shifts in the politics of the then-united Andhra Pradesh. Characters resembling Chiranjeevi (then on his way to merging his party with Congress), Pawan Kalyan, Sonia Gandhi (then UPA Chairman with extra-constitutional powers), AP CM K Rosaiah and others will be seen in the movie.

While Manasa Radhakrishnan will be seen as Jaganmohan Reddy’s wife YS Bharathi, the film has a few other less-known artists such as Dhanunjay Prabhune, Surabhi Prabhavati, Rekha Nirosha, Vasu Inturi, Kota Jayaram, and Elina Tuteja. The cinematography is by Sujeesh Rajendran. Editing is by Manish Thakur.
