'Prema Vimanam' on ZEE5: Outdated sensibilities!

'Prema Vimanam' started streaming on ZEE5 on Wednesday night. Directed by Santosh Kata, the Telugu-language web film tells the story of two kids (played by Devansh Nama and Anirudh Nama) with a dream to board a flight crossing paths with a young couple (played by Sangeeth Shoban and Saanve Megghana) eager to escape to Dubai as part of their elopement plan.

After boring OTT releases like 'Papam Pasivadu' (Aha Video) in recent times, 'Prema Vimanam' is yet another dud. Anasuya Bharadwaj plays a widow whose emotions never look real. Her kids are obsessed with catching a flight and yet, the mother doesn't make any real attempt to dissuade them. And it is not like she sees her kids' obsession as harmless. Ravi Varma plays a poor farmer who sports a semi-sophisticated beard.

The love track involving the lead pair is good in the first 15 minutes, thanks to the timing and screen presence of Sangeeth (recently seen in 'MAD'). By and by, especially in the second half, the love track fizzles out completely. The climax, where the four prime characters cross paths, is full of contrived coincidences.
