India's Chandrayaan 3: Spacecraft on Path to moon

India's Chandrayaan 3: Spacecraft on the path to the moon. ISRO once again is on the mission to catapult India into the elite countries in the world by landing the spacecraft on the lunar surface and thus join the likes of United States, the former Soviet Union and China to have successfully accomplished the mission.

ISRO today propelled the spacecraft from Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh and it is currently on path to the moon. The spacecraft launched aboard India's heaviest rocket, Launch vehicle Mark-III a.k.a LVM3 on a journey to the Moon. The smooth landing will be attempted after 45 days in August and after completing the 3,84,000 kilometers-long journey.

PM Modi congratulated ISRO for the achievement. He posted "Chandrayaan-3 scripts a new chapter in India's space odyssey. It soars high, elevating the dreams and ambitions of every Indian. This momentous achievement is a testament to our scientists' relentless dedication. I salute their spirit and ingenuity!"

It is known that the earlier attempt in September 2019 failed when the lander’s communication was lost from just 2.1 km from the surface of the Moon. ISRO stated “Chandrayaan-3 consists of an indigenous Lander module (LM), Propulsion module (PM) and a Rover with an objective of developing and demonstrating new technologies required for interplanetary missions,”
