Tesla eyeing Nellore to set up its manufacturing unit in India?

Recently, we have seen a lot of foreign companies, like Apple, Microsoft, and Google, investing in India. Now, there are allegations that Tesla Inc. is in discussions with the Indian government to establish its own supply chain there, including establishing its own electronics and auto parts supply chains. For this, it also requested clarification on incentives and tax advantages.

Following a meeting between Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Prime Minister Narendra Modi last month, analysts claim that there are significant prospects for Tesla to establish itself here in India, even though the conversations are still in their early stages.

Additionally, it has been reported that Tesla is in discussions with the Indian government to construct a plant with a yearly production capacity of up to 500,000 electric vehicles, with pricing beginning at INR 2 Million ($24,360).

According to further sources, Tesla was also exploring utilising India as an export hub with plans to send vehicles to nations in the Indo-Pacific area.
According to the most recent information, Tesla is considering locating its production facility in Andhra Pradesh's Nellore area.

The average elevation of Nellore, which is situated on the Bay of Bengal coast, is 7 feet. Nellore, popularly known as "The City of Palms or Diamond," has a large number of industrial facilities, including steel mills, cement plants, and other businesses that employ people from all walks of life. It is a significant industrial hub with a number of facilities serving the automotive, food processing, and textile sectors, making it the perfect location for the company's import and export operations.

If all goes according to plan, Nellore will experience rapid development and a rise in costs if Tesla does indeed move there.
