Netizens are pointing out that scammers from both India and other countries are increasingly pestering WhatsApp users day in and day out. If you are one of them, it is time to watch out and be cautious.
"WTF is happening! I keep getting missed calls on WhatsApp from unknown numbers from different parts of the world every single day. It’s now so bad, I have to keep my phone on silent," a Twitter user wrote. Reacting to her tweet, content writer Suhas Y mentioned that fake calls are constant and relentless. "This is a screenshot of my call log from this week. All spam! My phone is always on silent these days," he wrote.
"I started using the focus feature in iPhone to receive calls from ‘Contacts Only’ after receiving so many spam calls," wrote another user.
WhatsApp users are lashing out at the owners of the app for allegedly sharing private data with scammers. "Everyone I know has been receiving spam/scam calls from unknown numbers on WhatsApp. There seems to be a huge data breach at Meta. Zuckerberg doesn't want to share his hotel details but our numbers are now with scammers," an angry user wrote.
