There was a time he was no less than an emperor and suddenly for a long time, he went off the grid and now he is back again and that too with a bang of sorts. We are talking about the mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy who was part of the ruling BJP at one point of time. Thanks to the mining scam in Karnataka, Gali went behind bars and remained aloof from the public eye. Now, after the heat has passed, he is back and that too with the announcement of a new political party named ‘Kalyana Rajya Pragati Paksha’.

Now, this doesn’t seem to be a good sign for the BJP who is already struggling to keep a stable government in Karnataka. After Gali’s arrest, BJP distanced itself from him and there seems to be a wedge that has formed. But with Gali’s new party and the elections round the corner, the political experts believe at least 20 seats would be in the red zone for the BJP. It remains to be seen which direction Gali will sway in the coming months.
