Indians who have been waiting for US visas are reportedly fuming although the American Embassy in New Delhi has recently started a one-of-its-kind '12 days of visas' programme for encouraging people to apply for both H and L visas.

According to a video clip shared by the Embassy yesterday the first day of this programme, a 17 per cent increase was recorded in the H and L visa applications even as the waiting time has now been reduced for the same. However, this announcement made many Indians, who are experiencing long delays in obtaining visa interviews for travelling to the US, really fuming.

They feel that people are still suffering due to the backlog in business and tourism visas regarding appointments with the waiting time running into more than 1,000 days. The White House has recently mentioned that the US administration is aware of very long delays and is doing its best due to significant demand for visa services.

In the category of H and L, both H-1B and L-1 are considered as the popular non-immigrant work visas while the US Embassy in India has recently released close to 1,00,000 appointments for H and L visas for both workers and their families in a bid to slash the wait time.
