Obama makes anti-India remarks, gets heavily slammed

Former US president Barack Obama may be said to have made anti-India remarks at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a US visit.

Speaking to CNN, Obama suggested that India will break up into pieces if it doesn't protect the rights of its ethnic and religious minorities. "If I had a conversation with Prime Minister Modi, who I know well, part of my argument would be that if you do not protect the rights of ethnic minorities in India, there is a strong possibility at some point that India starts pulling apart," Obama has been quoted as saying by CNN. The phrase 'pulling apart' is extremely problematic and is more like a red flag.

Obama used the aforementioned words in a calculated manner. The US has a history of interfering in the internal affairs of other countries for its self-interests. By saying that minority rights have been trampled upon in India (which is totally untrue), Obama has tried to threaten India.

There is a "deep state" in the US that wants to weaken any rising country in the name of protecting democracy, human rights, etc. The "deep state" has no principles, no ethics, no humanity.

Fittingly, several Indians are slamming Obama. "India doesn't need lectures in tolerance and diversity from anyone. This whole narrative of Modi as an authoritarian degrading Muslims to second-class status is literally not backed up," wrote a Twitter user, criticizing Obama.

Researcher Monica Verma opined that Obama is maliciously indicating a regime change enforced from abroad or else India would be Balkanised (broken up into pieces).
