Reliance Jio has brought a revolution in the Indian telecom sector, with the convenience of using 2 GB data per day for less than 300 rupees per month. Mukesh Ambani, the founder of Jio, previously revolutionized the industry with the launch of 4G technology, and is now expanding into OTT services.

Jio Studios recently held a grand event in Mumbai where they released a trailer showcasing the titles of 100 movies and web series that will be released soon on their platform. The content seems to be intriguing and exciting, with Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki being one of the big films that Jio has acquired. It is expected to generate at least 1500 crores in revenue.

Analysts predict that Jio may follow the same strategy as it did with IPL 2023, where it provided free streaming to contestants like Hot Star, and may also provide free access to new movies in the future. This approach is aimed at getting people accustomed to the service and then gradually introducing fees.

In the coming days, Jio is expected to focus on converting the large subscriber base of Prime, Netflix, Sony Liv, and Hot Star towards its OTT services. It will begin with Bollywood and slowly move towards the regional market. This move by Jio has the potential to cause a significant disruption in the entertainment industry, especially at a time when small films are finding it challenging to secure theater releases. Jio's plans for its OTT services are going to bring about a revolution in the entertainment industry, with Mukesh Ambani leading the way.
