It is widely credited to be the party that had taken a lot of risk to grant Telangana statehood. Many BRS leaders including its chief and Telangana CM KCR openly acknowledged the role played by Sonia Gandhi to push Telangana bill forward in early 2014, though politically they may not agree with Congress party. Now something is all set to happen in Congress, which is ticking like a time bomb.

The ardent followers of Congress believed that the party was destined to victory in 2014 but it lost due to nationwide anti-incumbency directed against the UPA government, including the fact that Congress rule in united AP was lackluster after 2010. Although the party lost, it still had hopes on its vote bank especially in rural areas. At a time when there was hope of resurgence, the entry of Revanth Reddy and the tie up with TDP for 2019 elections boomeranged on the party’s performance in the elections.

Then, came the moment when Revanth was promoted as PCC chief despite the party having stalwarts who served it for decades. Right from then, the party leaders have both openly and subtly aired their disapproval of his way and style of working. Although he might look aggressive, Revanth is a person who only projects himself and has his own independent ambitions.

The discontent grew as Revanth started taking decisions on his own and then thrusting on party leaders. Now everything has reached a crescendo where the seniors revolted and its Telangana in-charge from AICC, Manickam Tagore has been shunted out. Now, Revanth has started saying that he is ready to sacrifice PCC post in return for Congress achieving victory.

It’s a hint that Congress cannot come to power and right from now, he doesn’t deserve blame and seniors are to be blamed. Now, sources say that he may formally launch ‘Telangana Congress’ since the current Congress is only a state unit of All India Congress and doesn’t have a formal name. As expected, the party may implode any time and he is expected to sail with his batch who moved along with him from TDP. The party seems to be on a ventilator mode currently in Telangana.
