In view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission of India has halted the disbursement of Rythu Bandhu, which is now called, Rythu Barosa. The commission further stated that the funds should be released to the farmers only after the end of Lok Sabha Polls.
The EC said in its official announcement, “No new beneficiaries should be added to the list of eligible beneficiaries. No Publicity should be made in this regard. No public function should be organised for disbursement of kits/items in kind. No political functionary will be involved in the process of disbursement,” among other conditions.
Parliamentary elections in the state of Telangana would be held on May 13, 2024 and the results would be announced on June 4, 2024.
