There was a time when a government job was considered the most prestigious and once the private sector came in, things changed. Despite that, the demand for government jobs has not gone down. Right now, it is being reported that the demand for jobs in the Telangana government is quite huge.
For the last 9 years, the government of Telangana gave notifications for jobs in the police department but now they have released notifications for groups 1 to 4. As a result, a major frenzy is happening and the applications have come in lakhs. Recently a notification for group 4 jobs has received more than 9 lakh applications, as per sources.
Despite the sad truth that most of the jobs are catered to reservation candidates, it is heard that many from the forward castes are also applying in huge numbers. Another interesting part is, married couples, those who are already working in private companies are also applying for this.
