Anti-Hindu remarks: Revanth Reddy says INDI Alliance partner must be 'punished'

Last year, DMK leader Udayanidhi Stalin created a ruckus when he said that Sanatana Dharma must be eradicated. The remarks were used by the BJP to build the narrative that the INDI Alliance is out to destroy Hinduism.

Curiously, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy has vocally condemned Stalin. Appearing at a Times Now event, the Congress leader clearly said that nobody should make remarks against any religion. "We believe in unity in diversity. Stalin must be punished for what he said," Revanth Reddy added.

When the host said that DMK is a Congress ally, he said that it doesn't matter. "Even within a family, the wife may not agree with her husband. Differences of opinion always exist," Reddy said.

There is a view that the remarks have been made strategically. "We shouldn't be surprised if the Congress party highlights Revanth Reddy's remarks now that the elections are over in Tamil Nadu," a Twitter user said. All 39 seats in TN went to polls in the first phase of General Elections on Friday.
