Chhattisgarh encounters : 29 maoists killed by security forces

In a massive encounter at Chhattisgarh, 29 maoists were killed by the security forces in the region. According to the reports, so far, as many as 29 bodies of the naxalites were recovered on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at the Kanker area.

Chhattisgarh police in a statement said that “On April 16, a search operation by a joint team comprising of Kanker DRG and BSF was launched in the Chhottebetiya police station limit area in Kanker district. At around 2pm, there was an exchange of fire between maoists and security forces near Binagunda-koragutta jungles of the Chhottebetiya police station area.”

Officials add that if the figure crosses 30 casualties, this could become the largest operation by the forces in the last decade.
