Delhi chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal sent to Tihar jail

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal was sent to Tihar jail after his Enforcement Directorate(ED) custody ended on Monday April 1. The central probe agency arrested him in connection with the Delhi Liquor policy scam on March 21.

Going further into details, The special PMLA court, Delhi has remanded Arvind Kejriiwal for ED custody for six days till March 28, 2024. After the ED filed a petition seeking to extend the custody of Kejriwal for three more days the court granted three days custody and extended till April 1. After the custody was ended the ED produced him and didn’t seek any extension. Subsequently he was sent to judicial custody till April 15.

Meanwhile Arvind Kejriwal filed an interim bail petition in Delhi High court which was heard on March 27th, 2024. Further the high court ordered the ED to submit their counter by April 2. Next hearing is scheduled for April 3. Meanwhile till he gets bail he has to stay in Thiar jail along with all the other accused in the Delhi Liquor policy scam.
