'North Vs South India': Congress is insulting itself

After Sunday's election results, it is clear that Congress is weak in the Hindi heartland but is stronger down South (compared to the 2018 election season). Congress is the most popular party in Karnataka and Telangana as far as the Assembly elections are concerned. The election results have made many pro-Congress commentators, including a few Congress functionaries, talk about the myth of a North-South India divide. As per this theory, the BJP can never rule any South Indian state other than Karnataka.

By offering this theory, the Congress supporters believe they are propagating the view that the BJP can't be a pan-India party ever. But they miss the other half of the story when they proffer such silly theories. They are indirectly saying that they are finished in North India and Central India. Because, as per these Congress supporters themselves, the thinking of voters in North India is different from the thinking of voters in South India. In South India, voters love Congress as per them. Does it mean North India will continue to hate the Congress because North Indians are polar opposites?

BJP supporters are found mocking the Congressis for their self goals. "Congressis are saying that Congress is finished in East, West and North India and that they are a southern party. Will Rahul Gandhi now learn Malayalam please? Will Priyanka Gandhi learn Kannada please? Her kids can learn Telugu and Tamil," a Netizen mockingly wrote.
