Two persons arrested in CM Jagan’s attack case

In a significant breakthrough, Andhra police have arrested two persons in connection with the attempt to murder case of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

It is learnt that the police so far have questioned around 6 people in connection with the case and arrested two people named Satish and Durga Rao. Preliminary investigation indicated that, while Satish executed the attack, Durga Rao assisted him. Further police are probing into the political angle.

The Andhra police opened an investigation, following a complaint from Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao, Vijayawada West MLA. On April 13, evening the complainant along with Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and other leaders participated in the Memantha Siddham Bus yatra. They were on the rooftop of the bus and greeting the people. While they reached near Vivekananda school a person threw a stone at Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, which struck him on the left eyebrow leading to bleeding injury. Further the same stone hit the complainant as well on his left eye leaving him with an injury.

Based on the complaint Andhra police booked a case under section 307(IPC) attempt to murder.
