The impending Andhra Pradesh elections have spiced up the political scene as a lot is riding on this year's electoral mandate with the leading parties fighting tooth and nail for power.
Coming to YS Sharmila, for the first time in her political career, she is actually contesting in the election as she announced her candidacy from Kadapa parliament segment.
But as it appears, Sharmila's fight from the Kuppam parliament seat should end up on a disaster note.
In 2019, NOTA polled around 14,000 votes nearly as much as how Congress candidate Ajay polled(14.3K) in Kadapa MP election in 2014. In case the TDP+ alliance fields even half decent candidate in Kadapa, then the AP Congress chief should face a tough challenge.
In 2019, Avinash polled 7 lakh+ votes in Kadapa and won by a majority of 3.8 lakh votes. Now the challenge for Sharmila will be to poll at least half as many votes as Avinash Reddy.
Notably, Kadapa is under the firm grip of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy so polling even half decent vote share here will be a huge deal for Sharmila. I has to be seen how she will cope with the same.
