Jagan assures to include heavy vehicle drivers under Vahana Mitra scheme

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy assured to include heavy vehicle drivers into the ‘YSR Vahana Mitra’ scheme once he comes to power again in the upcoming Andhra Pradesh General Elections 2024. Jagan Mohan Reddy made these comments during an interaction meeting with drivers in Poyya village of Srikalahasti Assembly constituency.

“In the last five years of our rule, we have dispersed around Rs 1200 crores to 3.93 lakhs Auto rickshaw / Taxi / Maxi Cab drivers as a part of ‘YSR Vahana Mitra’ scheme, said Jagan who was on a statewide public outreach bus yatra titled ‘Memantha Siddham’ ahead of Andhra Pradesh elections.

The ‘YSR Vahana Mitra’ scheme was launched in 2021. The government provides financial assistance of Rs 10,000/- per annum to Self-owned Auto/Taxi Drivers for expenditure towards insurance, fitness certificates, repairs, and other requirements.
