Another shock to TDP: Ex-govt whip, Chand Basha resigns

A big shock to the opposition Telugu Desam Party in Kadiri as ex MLA and ex-government whip Attar Chand Basha resigned from the TDP on Sunday, March 31, 2024. In a formal letter, Attar Chand Basha has sent his resignation letter to the party national president, Nara Chandra Babu Naidu.

In the letter, Chand Basha said, “I am writing to formally tender my resignation from the primary membership of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), effective immediately. After careful consideration and personal reflection, I have decided that it is in my best interest to discontinue my association with the party.”

It is being speculated that Chand Basha is unhappy with TDP aligning with the BJP, despite the TDP once outspokenly said that it won't contest with the BJP. Hurt with this move, Chand Basha seems to tender his resignation formally. His resignation might affect the TDP in Kadiri constituency as Chand Basha is a strong leader with a large number of cadre under him.
