Botsa Satyanarayana, the senior minister in YCP, has announced that the government's policy includes having three capitals and they plan to go to elections on this issue. Speaking to the media, he made controversial comments on Amaravati as the capital.

Botsa stated that if Amaravati is the capital then the whole state's wealth cannot be poured into Amaravati's potholes and ditches. He added that public money in the form of lakhs of crores cannot be dumped in the capital either. He countered the question of who are the farmers in Amaravati by saying that they are only those who have financially benefited from mentioning the name of the capital.

He supported comparing Amaravati with crematorium and asked whether there would not be a graveyard if there was a village. Botsa emphasized that the YCP government's policy of having three capitals will move forward in that way, and there is no room for a second opinion.

He stated that they will go to Visakha tomorrow and will not allow any chance for real rethinking or discussion on the matter of three capitals. He disagreed with the analysis that voters of Uttar Andhra did not give a verdict against the capital of Visakhapatnam, and said that they lost the whole thing. He also took responsibility for the defeat of the Uttarandhra MLC candidate.

The issue of three capitals has a strong impact on Amaravati, and as Botsa said, it remains to be seen whether the YCP government will go to the people of AP only on the issue of three capitals or think of something else. It is unclear whether this policy will cause big problems for the YCP in the future.
