The team led by PK alias Prashant Kishore has a deep understanding of the political scene in Andhra Pradesh. However, it seems that they have also developed a belief that they are solely responsible for the successes of the party they work for. Over the past five years, the PK team has served as election strategists for YCP, and their collaboration with the party resulted in a significant victory for YCP in the 2019 elections. Although there were multiple factors at play, PK team's efforts played a crucial role in Jagan becoming the Chief Minister with 151 seats.

Despite this success, the PK team seems to have developed an inflated sense of self-importance, and Jagan's unwavering admiration for them has only reinforced this belief. This has created tensions among the leaders within YCP, particularly after the lackluster performance of the party in the recent local body elections.

The surveys conducted and the advice provided by PK team were deemed ineffective, and there were allegations that PK team had been squandering party funds on surveys. Their strategies, which included concealing the leadership and creating chaos within the party, had also been criticized.

While the PK team had enjoyed complete trust from the party leadership until now, recent events have caused the leadership to view them with suspicion. Rumours abound that YCP is considering cancelling the agreements made with PK team for the 2024 elections and trying to prevent a mass exodus of party members. It is becoming increasingly clear that the PK team's future with YCP is uncertain.

In this context, some believe that it may be better for YCP if the PK team were to leave. Others argue that bringing the cadre closer to the party during elections could do some good because ultimately, it is the responsibility of the leadership to win the hearts of the party cadre and the people.
