Posani Krishna Murali, a well-known actor and filmmaker in the Telugu film industry, recently made a startling revelation in a media interview. According to him, during the shooting of the film Operation Duryodhana in Ramoji Film City, the Chief Security Officer, Pandu Ranga Rao, suggested that he should buy land in Amaravati. Rao reportedly informed Posani that the land prices in Amaravati were expected to skyrocket as it was rumored to become the new capital within three months.

Posani, however, decided against buying the land despite the recommendation, as his conscience didn't allow him to do so. His revelation has raised questions about the land deals that took place in Amaravati, the planned capital city of Andhra Pradesh.

In a recent TV debate, former TDP minister Nakka Anandababu claimed that several TDP leaders had already bought land in Amaravati in anticipation of the capital's shift, but he was unable to do so due to lack of funds. This claim adds further weight to the suspicions of irregularities in the land acquisition process.

The controversy surrounding Amaravati has been ongoing for several years now. In 2015, the then-Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu, announced plans to build a new capital city that would be the pride of the state. Amaravati was chosen as the location for the new capital due to its central location and historical significance.

However, the plans for Amaravati have been mired in controversy from the beginning. Many have alleged that the land acquisition process was riddled with irregularities and that some people, including politicians and their associates, made illegal profits from the land deals.

The Andhra Pradesh government has since ordered a probe into the land deals and suspended several officials who were involved in the process. However, the controversy refuses to die down, and many are still waiting for justice to be served.

Posani's revelation adds another layer to the ongoing controversy surrounding Amaravati. It raises questions about the extent of insider knowledge that some people had about the planned capital city and whether they used that knowledge to make illegal profits. The investigation into the Amaravati land deals must be thorough and impartial to ensure that justice is served and that the people of Andhra Pradesh can trust their government.
