Madhu Bommineni sworn in as the new President of American Telugu Association, ATA, a premier umbrella Organization serving the needs of the Telugu people across North America. Mrs. Bommineni is from Raleigh North Carolina and has been associated with ATA since 2004. Prior to becoming the President, she held various positions in addition to Jt. Secretary, Secretary and Executive Director. Madhu Bommineni was sworn in as the new President of ATA on Saturday January 21st at the ATA board meeting held at the Mirage in Las Vegas, NV. President Bhuvanesh Boojala passed on the baton to the new president.
The new president appreciated President Boojala and his team for their dedication towards ATA for last two years.
Meeting was well attended by the board of trustees, past presidents, advisers, standing committee members, regional coordinators and directors from all around US. ATA Board of Trustee elections were held in January 2023 to fill 16 vacant board of Trustee positions, a 4-year term. Newly elected Board of trustees elected include Anil Boddireddy, Sunny Reddy, Kiran Pasham, Kishore Guduru, Maheedar Muskula, Narsi Reddy Gaddikoppula, Ramakrishna Reddy Ala, Raju Kakkerla, Sai Sudhini, Srikanth Gudipati, Narsimha Reddy Dhyasani, Raghuveer Maripeddi, Sainath Boyapalli, Satish Reddy, Srinivas Dargula and Vinod Koduru.
The ATA board has elected Jayanth Challa as President-Elect and also elected executive committee members next two years. The new EC Committee consists of Madhu Bommineni, President; Jayanth Challa, President-Elect, Ramakrishna Reddy Ala, Secretary, Satish Reddy, Treasurer, Tirupati Reddy Yerramreddy, Jt. Secretary, Ravinder Guduru, Jt. Treasurer and Hari Prasad Reddy Lingala as Executive Director.
Addressing the board, President Bommineni shared her goals laid out the road map for the organization and announced that team emphasis must be commitment, unity and responsibility to the community service. President Bommineni re-iterated that while ATA will stay true to its core beliefs of promoting literary, cultural, educational, and social activities of the community. Her focus would be involving younger generation and importance of their involvement. She requested board to brainstorm new ideas how to involve second generation youth in ATA related activities, increase youth participation and eventually come into leadership positions.
Mrs. Bommineni indicated that she will work with new motivation to concentrate on core values of ATA while extending ATA community reach. Promoting literary, cultural programs, increasing participation in service projects, enabling ATA SEVA to perform more efficiently with needed resources, in addition to Student Services, informational and health services programs will be given a new determination during her presidency.
