It is no less than a dream come true for even the best of superstars to work with the tough taskmaster S S Rajamouli. This is one reason why they are willing to dedicate 3 to 4 years of their career for him instead of doing multiple projects. On the other hand, Rajamouli has been raising the bar of expectations with each of his projects and he is keen to fulfil them. Now, all eyes are on his next with none other than superstar Mahesh Babu and the speculations are quite rife given the subject.
For starters, it is heard that Rajamouli is planning a story which is on the lines of the Hollywood flick ‘Indiana Jones’ wherein Mahesh would be seen as an adventurous treasure hunter. Secondly, it is also heard that Rajamouli is planning this as a franchisee model so it is natural that the film’s two parts would take at least 5 to 6 years for completion. While that may be so, yet another concern is popping in the heads of many cine buffs and Mahesh’s fans.
In the past, Mahesh came up with offbeat flicks such as ‘Takkari Donga’ ‘Khaleja’ and despite being made on an international level, the films really failed to work. So, given the present subject of Rajamouli it would take some intricate script work and most importantly, an amazing combination of visuals and graphics to engage the audience.
Most importantly, such films take some really big budgets and the result at the box office can go either way. Hence, it is not just the long term time commitment from Mahesh but also the financial implications and the smartness of the script to make the audience accept Mahesh as an adventure hero which would be a task for Rajamouli.
For now, Mahesh is busy working with the wizard of words Trivikram Srinivas and the project is going as per schedule. As for Rajamouli, he is working real hard to ensure ‘RRR’ bags an Oscar in the original song category. That said, any project coming from him is bound to create a lot of hype and if Rajamouli succeeds in showing Mahesh despite his flop streak in such genres, he will truly become a superstar in the eyes of Mahesh’s fans and obviously the dream debut of Mahesh as a pan India star would also be fulfilled.
