A day before the theatrical release of 'Family Star', at a media meet-and-greet event, Dil Raju said that he has never in his life opposed any reviews on the grounds that they are negative. "Reviews are personal opinions. I have no business opposing them. It's up to the critic what opinion he wants to express. Even films that received 4-star ratings bombed at the box-office. Reviews don't affect the audience's preferences," he said.
However, just three days later, Dil Raju changed the tune! Speaking to a TV channel on Sunday, he said that there must be a moratorium on publishing reviews for the first three days of a movie's release. "This norm was recently formalized by the Kerala High Court. It must be replicated everywhere. If not, there might come a day when film producers will stop making movies," Dil Raju said.
The U-Turn has been fuelled by the poor BO performance of 'Family Star'. After a half-decent Day 1, the film collapsed on Day 2.
A lot of negative YouTube reviews on 'Family Star' have garnered views in lakhs! It is safe to conclude that Dil Raju feels they have affected the collections of his film.
