'Indrani': India's first futuristic superwoman movie locks release date

'Indrani', India's first superwoman franchise, is produced by Shray Motion Pictures. Its first edition comes with a tailpiece, 'Epic 1: Dharam vs Karam'. Starring Yaaneea, Ankitha, Kabir Duhan Singh, Ajay, Saptagiri and others, the film will hit the screens on April 5.

Speaking at the film's trailer launch event, writer-producer-director Stephen Pallam said, "I didn't set out to do a superhero movie. The plot I had developed demanded a superhero. The logical plot with an understanding of the current geopolitical situation demanded a big scale. The trailer itself is nearly four minutes long. This is the longest in Indian cinema. The film's running time is also long at nearly two hours 47 minutes. Time machine, futuristic sci-fi, robotics and a lot of other elements are infused in the film. The animation and VFX had to be so specific. Technology-based superhero movies are a risky genre. This is not a superhero movie based on the supernatural powers of the protagonist. Everyone will be thoroughly entertained. The word 'Karam' in the title refers to the culmination of one hundred years of Karma in the story. Epic 2 is going to be there."

Guest and producer Anil Sunkara said, "Stephen has put in a lot of money, effort, heart and passion into the project. He has been travelling to and fro between India and the US. He hails from Chicago. The very title of this movie is creative. 'Indrani' is a combination of 'India' and 'Rani'. The production values are rich."

Music director Sai Kartheek said that Stephen had done extensive homework. "This film is India's answer to Hollywood's 'Avengers' franchise. The trailer released today shows that the output is outstanding. The visuals are top-notch. I can't wait to do re-recording. I am glad composer Mani Sharma garu is present here today," he added.
