The covid pandemic has changed the taste and preferences of audiences and we see a trend where audiences are more interested in films that are unique with a different selling point. However, there's one more trend that is being highlighted recently. It is related to the commercial formula films doing well at box office, which has caught the attention of many.

Galodu starring small screen hero Sudigali Sudheer was a surprise hit at the box office despite average talk. Ravi Teja's film Dhamaka also gained only average talk initially but later it did an amazing 100 crores business. Same is the case with Megastar Chiranjeevi starrer 'Waltair Veerayya' and Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer 'Veera Simha Reddy'. The films were routine commercial movies with repeated formulas of the last 10-20 years with no unique element. Yet, both the films are earning very good collections at the box office despite average talk content wise.

Hence, it is becoming clear that in theatres, audiences are expecting to watch and enjoy routine format commercial films, even if they lack any unique elements. So, OTT is for enjoying content based films while theatres are back to their old glory of mass movies.
