The upcoming Karnataka elections have intensified the campaigns of political parties such as BJP and Congress. Both parties are focusing on the Kannada film industry, known as Sandalwood, and attempting to gain the favor of its actors and actresses.

BJP has garnered the support of two Sandalwood heroes, including Kiccha Sudeep, who played the villain in director Rajamouli's "Eega." Sudeep has declared his support for Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and will campaign for BJP during the elections. However, he has stated that he is not entering politics and will not contest in the elections.

Similarly, there are rumors that another popular Kannada actor, Darshan, may also join the BJP. It is believed that Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has approached State Health Minister K. Sudhakar to seek Darshan's support for the party.

Meanwhile Prakash Raj expressed his dismay and disbelief after learning that Kannada superstar Kichcha Sudeep declared his support for the BJP ahead of the upcoming state elections in Karnataka. Sudeep confirmed that he would campaign for the political party, but he will not run for the assembly elections scheduled for May 10. It is worth noting that Prakash Raj, who previously ran as an Independent candidate from Bengaluru in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, had previously dismissed the rumors of Sudeep joining the BJP.

Although the parties are banking on the popularity of Sandalwood actors and actresses, it remains to be seen whether their support will sway the voters in their favor. The people will ultimately decide which party will emerge victorious in the upcoming elections.
