Top tech companies like TCS, Infosys ask employees to work from office

The era of the 'work from home' culture is drawing to a close. Several prominent tech firms operating in India are now ordering their employees to return to the office. They are implementing various strategies, ranging from requiring at least three days per week in-office to a minimum of ten days per month. These companies have experimented with hybrid models and adjusted HR policies in attempts to address employee resistance.

As per a ToI report, TCS is among the front-runners. By March 31, employees have to start mandatorily working from the office for at least three days a week. HCLTech, too, has made a similar norm for its employees starting the coming Monday (February 19).

The national daily says that Infosys recently ordered its employees to work at least 10 days a month from the office. Wipro, Google, Amazon, IBM, Dell and Meta (Facebook) have made similar rules.

A report by Bloomberg says that employees are increasingly realizing the importance of working from the office for career growth. "Remote workers are more likely to be laid off than their peers who work in the office or in hybrid environments," the report quotes a Live Data Technologies survey as saying.
