Donating precious lands worth hundreds of crores now is not something that everyone would do. Only certain kind hearts can do it. Maybe it was not worth crores then, but since it’s worth now, naturally we see how heirs come to reacquire their properties. But veteran actor Prabhakar Reddy and his family have proved to be very different.
It is known that late Telugu actor Prabhakar Reddy had given a huge land for the construction of Chitrapuri Colony in Manikonda Jagir, which is worth more than thousand crores now, according to estimates. He had donated the land with a noble cause of building flats for poor cine workers in close proximity to filmnagar, in the heart of Hyderabad city.
These days, Megastar Chiranjeevi is being given the tag that he is the most elderly and respected person of Tollywood which the industry can look up to. Recently the inauguration of Chitrapuri Colony Flats was held and Chiranjeevi was the Chief Guest here, where they distributed the completed MIG and LIG flats to beneficiaries.
Although Chiru mentioned the name of Prabhakar Reddy, the event organizers failed to invite the family of Prabhakar Reddy for this event. Prabhakar Reddy's daughter and producer Sailaja Reddy openly expressed her disappointment recently in a media interaction regarding a minimum courtesy that has not been extended.
She felt that it is a matter of humanity if not an obligation to at least invite her mother. She openly said that Chiranjeevi is definitely a big name now while her father Prabhakar Reddy was a forgotten history. Therefore, she felt that having Chiru’s presence will add more mileage for the event. But the fact of the matter is there are many such unsung heroes and despite Tollywood’s big-time publicity, such names are lost forever and everyone settles for sycophancy.
On the record, it has become common to sing and praise one family. Every actor deserves recognition and depending on their stature, so be it. Chiru too said during the event that there seems to be some issues earlier but he is not aware of it and he only attended the event when he came to know that underprivileged will get benefitted. What happened to the organizers for having ignored the family that donated a fortune for the welfare of the film fraternity?
