Tollywood industry is among the biggest and leading film industries in India and we have been producing hundreds of films every year. Bollywood has always dominated Indian film scape for decades and then it was the Tamil industry that earned national fame for its reach and style of filmmaking. Bengali and Malayalam industries were more of film festivals and award-winning projects.

Thanks to Rajamouli, Tollywood acquired nationwide fame with Bahubali and then Bahubali 2. The films created collections tsunami which was never heard of earlier in Indian cinema. The South suddenly became the intense focus. Later, Covid lockdown and the death of Sushanth Singh Rajput changed the tastes and preferences of Bollywood forever.

Rajamouli’s magic RRR created a sensation once again. The film starring Alia Bhat, NTR, Ram Charan, Shriya and Ajay Devgn was a pan India hit this year and at the end of 2022, we have something more to reminisce about as well. The movie earned amazing collections and in all languages it released, the film was a massive chartbuster. Once again, Rajamouli made Telugus immensely proud.

The film has created another record recently with Golden Globes nomination and Oscar award nomination. The popular song Naatu Naatu has been nominated for best original song category in the Oscars. This is for the first time that a song from Indian films has made it to this category. In early 2023, the jury will give the final verdict whether the song has won the award or not. Irrespective of the result, this is a triumph for Telugus worldwide that we were able to reach that far.

In case the award is indeed announced, then both MM Keeravani and Chandrabose would be lifting the coveted Oscar trophy. The song has set many records right from its trailer release and literally thousands of film watchers all over the world imitated the foot tapping note and posted it on social media. This was the amazing reach of this super hit song, which is a true multi starrer of sorts in Telugu industry. Let’s wait for the glorious moment. The fact that the song made it to the Oscars is indeed a big thing and Indians all over too can claim their moment of pride because making it to Oscars is a very challenging thing due to intense competition from movies all over the world. The verdict will be out for us in 2023.
