Senior director Siva Nageswara Rao who gave some good hits like ‘Money’ ‘Sisindri’ and others has now arrived after a long hiatus. This time, he has attempted a crime thriller of sorts so let us see if it has worked or not.

Story
Siddhu Senior and Junior (Pranav and Chakri) are small time thieves who have an ethical way of making money. In that process, they bump across Lakshmi (Malavika) who comes to them with a proposal of stealing her boss’s phone. On the other hand, there is a professional killer Satti (Bitthiri Satti) who is given ransom to kill Parvathi (Pranathi), wife of Vimal (Ajay Ghosh). Vimal is a guy dealing with drugs and other illegal activities. Twist of events occur when the path of Siddhu and Lakshmi cross with Vimal. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Performances
Pranav Chandra looks decent and he did good for a debut act. Malavika was sensuous and if she can choose some right scripts she can shine. Ajay Ghosh was excellent. Bittiri Satti made his presence felt. Pranathi was natural. Chakri was cute and carried out his role with confidence. Tanikella Bharani, Tarzan, Banerjee were brief. The others didn’t have much to offer.

Crew
The story was written smartly by including all elements possible like romance, crime, mystery, comedy. The script was moderately written and the screenplay could have been better. The background score was good at places and one song was nice. The retro song grabbed some attention. Editing could have been sharp. Costumes were upto the mark and art department was neat. Cinematography could have used better resolution and angles in few scenes. Production values were okay.

Deeper Look
The genre of crime thrillers is always intriguing and if it is laced with some elements of romance, comedy it becomes a good commercial entertainer. In this film, the story has all such ingredients and it did have the potential to become a good entertainer. However, there were few gaps when it came to the treatment, the pace and the narrative. The film takes off on a smooth note and it sets the mood by introducing the characters. However, it loses steam after a while and again picks up at the interval bang. The second half was able to connect the dots neatly but the dampener was few scenes which felt unnecessary and some mistimed humor. If only the packaging was done tightly the film could have been a very good treat. At the box office, the film might become a profit grosser given the budget but it would take strong word of mouth publicity to reach the success zone.

Vox Verdict
Passable Venture
